Crisis Management
For the most part our businesses, organisations or indeed private lives run more or less incident free but now and again something can happen which can lead to adverse publicity. Such occurrences can come as a surprise and can threaten the reputation of your businesses or organization and indeed your personal reputation if not handled properly and swiftly.
The term ‘no such thing as bad publicity’ is fine until business and possibly personal reputations in general are facing a serious threat from incidents beyond your control. Ultimately, Crisis Management is designed to protect you, your business or your organization from threats. However, Crisis Management also aims to reduce the impact felt by these threats if they do materialize.
Crisis management can be divided into three phases: (1) pre-crisis, (2) crisis response, and (3) post-crisis. The pre-crisis phase is concerned with prevention and preparation. The crisis response phase is when management, an organization or an individual must actually respond to a crisis. The post-crisis phase then looks at ways to better prepare for another crisis should it occur and fulfills commitments made during the crisis phase including the provision of follow-up information. With years of experience in the print newspaper and broadcast media as journalists and editors ourselves we at Ace Writing and Media Services know exactly how best to deal with such crises.
